With the release of a Kannada-Marathi bilingual project and a rare direct OTT release for the Kannada film industry, actress Manvita Kamath is keeping busy with various mediums in the world of cinema. In a conversation with Bangalore Times, she discusses her work across different platforms, the lessons she has learned throughout her years in the Kannada film industry, and the strong support she receives from her husband, Arun Pai, and his family following their recent marriage.Excerpts:"I enjoy the excitement of appearing on the big screen, but OTT platforms offer access to a whole new audience.""I have always believed that I am suited for acting in various mediums. While seeing oneself on the big screen is unparalleled, watching a film in a theater is a unique experience.""I am grateful to have been part of many films that achieved significant success with '125 days' displays at cinemas. Those days belong to the past. However, I also appreciate watching content on OTT platforms. It provides numerous opportunities and has a wide-reaching impact. Unlike theatrical releases that target specific audiences based on demographics, OTT platforms offer content to a broader audience without restrictions of language or location.""Currently, I have my bilingual project, 'Chakhamakhi,' my Kannada film, 'One and Half,' scheduled for theatrical releases, and another project set for a direct OTT release. I eagerly anticipate the premiere of all three.""There have been instances where I turned down interviews due to feeling unprepared. The emergence of social media has altered how people perceive individuals, prompting me to consider enhancing my presence in that space." "Unfortunately, on social media, reality often gets distorted, leading to misconceptions.""I have always valued my privacy to some extent. Throughout my career, there were times when I declined interviews."I used to avoid interviews because I didn't think I had much to share as news. But now, with the influence of social media, I find myself questioning if I should step up my presence there. It's concerning how people's perceptions can be shaped by what they see online, potentially overshadowing the hard work, dedication, and respect I have for my craft that may not be as visible. The public may not be aware of the efforts I put into my work off-screen.

I am determined not to let negativity affect me, and I am grateful for the unwavering support of my mentors and good friends. My husband, Arun, and his family provide me with the kind of encouragement I truly appreciate. While my mother was initially hesitant about me joining the film industry, my husband and his family are genuinely interested in my work and celebrate my accomplishments.

Reflecting on my journey, I realize that I was quite naive for a significant portion of my career. However, as I continue to grow both personally and professionally, I have learned to set boundaries and not allow myself to be taken advantage of. I have distanced myself from individuals who undermine my self-confidence. My focus is on producing meaningful work, and I remain steadfast in not allowing negativity to dampen my spirits.
